Hey, my name is Thomas. Photography has been my hobby since the 1980s. This suggests that I am no longer the youngest. But I am rich in experience. I come from the westernmost part of Germany, an area in NRW right on the Dutch border. After my apprenticeship, A-levels and computer science degree, I spent a lot of time on the road as a consultant. I always had a camera with me. Today, I live in the 11th largest city in Germany. In Bremen, near the Bürgerpark.
Over the years, numerous photos have accumulated. Over time, I have also learned a lot about image composition, photographic technique and also about image reviews. I would like to share some of my work with my friends on these pages. I also run the website a little to get to know like-minded people and to exchange ideas with them. Nikon D800 with flash and softbox
I used to work with Minolta cameras. That was a different century. Today, I work with Nikon DSLRs. I'm not planning to switch to a mirrorless system currently, I'd have to invest a five-figure sum. My D800 has served me faithfully for 10 years, and the D850 is still up-to-date today. Image composition is important to me, but I always appreciate the decisive moment. I work with RAW data as little as possible. I prefer to invest the time needed to convert countless images in other activities. If the lighting conditions are extreme or the photos are important, I shoot in RAW format as well as JPEG. The photos are exposed in such a way that I find enough reserves in the JPEG for the finishing touches in post-processing.
